Graduated in 1985 with the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) honours degree of the University of Calabar and bagged the prize for Best Graduating Student in International Law of that Class. He was called to the bar in October 1986, since which he has been in active legal practice serving variously as Legal Adviser to a Local Government Council, Associate, Senior Associate and Head of Chambers of some of the most distinguished Law Firms in Nigeria.

He is a consummate litigation lawyer and has handled landmark cases in all the strata of the Nigerian court system with remarkable success rate. His practice forte include:- general, commercial & criminal litigation, intellectual property, insurance, oil and gas. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management, a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts, a Member of the Institute of Directors (London) and a Commonwealth Fellow. Mr. Asanga is actively involved in the third sector and is the founder and President of the Project for Alleviation of Mass Poverty & Economic Retardation in Africa (PAMPER-Africa) an NGO duly incorporated in Nigeria.

He also, in association with certain Third Sector leaders in Nigeria founded the Nigerian Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (NACEVO) of which he is a Trustee and Executive Secretary/CEO. He is a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club International. In 1995, he founded and registered his own law firm Ime Asanga & Company and, in November 2014, expanded the practice into a consortium under the name: THE CITADEL OF LAW of which he is the Managing Partner.

Had his early childhood education in Booterstown Boys School, Dublin, Ireland. He graduated from the University of Calabar in 1985 with the Bachelor of Laws Degree and was called to the Nigerian Bar in October 1986 since which he has practised and taught the law in many capacities first as Legal adviser of a Local Government Council, then as Counsel in some of the finest laws firms in Nigeria and as Lecturer in a Federal Polytechnic where he taught Principles of Law, Administrative Law, Company & Business Law, Law of Executorship and Bankruptcy and served variously as Head of the Department of Legal Studies, Member of the Academic Board of the Polytechnic and Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of its Community Bank among others.

Mr. Efiong is a Partner in THE CITADEL OF LAW and brings aboard over three decades of cognate experience in general, commercial & criminal litigation, corporation law, legal advisory services, legal research & writing.

Underwent a one year study in Classics and Philosophy at the University of Ibadan from 1981 to 1982 and proceeded to study Law in the University of Calabar where he earned the Bachelor of Laws Degree in 1986 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987. He holds a Diploma in Legal and Legislative Drafting from the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Lagos which he obtained in 1992 before proceeding to the Trinity College, Dublin in 1993 to study and obtain the Master of Arts (MA) degree in Commercial Law in 1994.

He has worked variously as Counsel in the commercial and maritime law department of the prestigious Law Firm- Irving & Bonnar and served for three (3) years as Group Legal Counsel of Aeromaritime/Brawal (Shipping) and in that capacity coordinated litigations and oversaw statutory compliance, corporate governance, arbitration, and inter-governmental/Ministerial liaison. He later founded the law firm – Boyce & Morgan in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. David is a Partner in THE CITADEL OF LAW and brings aboard three decades of expertise and experience in shipping; joint ventures; commercial/corporate law; litigation; ADR; legal documentation and compliance.

Graduated with the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Honours Degree of the University of Lagos in 1992 and was called to the Bar in 1994 since which he has been in corporate employment and active legal practice in some of the most reputable Law Firms in Lagos, Nigeria until January 2010 when he founded his own Law Firm – Silas Onyeme & Company of which he is the Managing Partner. He comes on board the CITADEL OF LAW as a Partner and brings along with him immense experience and expertise in debt recovery, ADR, company law, real estate and immigration law & practice. Barr. Oyeme is a Member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association and is married with Children

Attended Yaba College of Technology where he obtained National Diploma in Accountancy & Finance before proceeding to the University of Lagos where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA), Bachelor of Laws degree as well as a Masters degree in International Law and Diplomacy (MILD). He is a Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria; Fellow, Chartered Institute of Taxation Of Nigeria and Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1990.

George has had a successful Banking career spanning over twenty years covering Commercial/Merchant Banking and Portfolio Management. He worked in Union Bank Plc and Trust Bank Of Africa Limited where he held several positions across different units such as Financial Controller, Head of Operations & Administration, and Chief Inspector.

He was appointed by the 6th Session of the House of Representatives as Lead Consultant to two of its committees namely: (1) Joint Committee on Capital Markets and Banking & Currency in its inquiry into the activities of regulators, operators and stakeholders of the Nigerian Capital Market and (2) Committee on Banking & Currency in its investigation on the alleged unethical practices in the Banking sector. He is currently a Partner in THE CITADEL OF LAW and brings on board immense experience and expertise in Corporate and Commercial Law, Tax Advisory Services, Banking, Investment Funds and Securities Law.

Attended the University of Abuja where he obtained the Bachelor of Arts in English (B.A English) and later the Bachelor   of   Laws   (LL.B)   honours   Degree   in   2007.   He   was called the Nigerian Bar in 2008 since which he has been in active legal practice. He has worked in virtually all the departments of the Corporate Affairs Commission and practised as Counsel in some of the most prestigious law firms in Abuja before resigning in 2011 to establish his own law firm – SM Essienekak & Co.

Mr. Essienekak brings to THE CITADEL OF LAW immense experience and expertise in company law & practice, child & human rights, property law and litigation. He is a Senior Associate Counsel in the firm.

Graduated magna cum laude from the Faculty of Law of the University of Uyo in 2012 and was called to the Bar in 2013 after successfully completing the one year course of study in the Nigerian Law School and has since been in the mainstream of legal practice. Maria is well versed in legal and academic research, litigation and drafting. She is an Associate Counsel in THE CITADEL OF LAW.
